Women in Prison

Four years have passed since I wrote my first letter to a female inmate who has spent many years on death row.  About the same amount for a second one who’s death sentence was overturned. What put these two behind bars waiting for their own life to end?

There is always something in someone’s life that makes them decide to take some sort of action. That type of action is commonly called a reaction. I believe it is important to be proactive and not wait for the ball to drop on my house first. Derek is on the left, don’t let him be forgotten.

Read the Rutherford report.

Any death is an emotional event. What makes this one different are a number of reasons. Derek Hale had received 2 commendations while in the Marines. He served two tours in Iraq before being discharged due to medical issues. Derek did not have a record, was not committing a crime, had no warrent sworn out on him and had no history of drugs, alcohol or mental problems. This was a citizen with an unblemished past, a record so clean he could have been on the presidential guard. This was a good Marine. On November 6th his life ended, not on the streets of Iraq, but right here in his own backyard. He was gunned down in cold blood by a terrorist team dressed as officers and parading around as Wilmington Police. That’s what it should have been, but it wasn’t. The officers were in fact Wilmington Police and they did the unspeakable. Read about it on the Rutherford Report above and then give your opinion.
